Description from the seller
No reserve price!
Neogothic-Style Carved Wood Chest.
Medium-sized solid wood chest, showing a pronounced influence of Gothic Revival (Neogothic) style.
The sloped lid (seat- or reliquary-type) is decorated with three hollowed triangular panels with trilobed tracery. The front face features a textured frieze decorated with a blind arcade of pointed arches (ogival).
Resting on rectangular-section feet integrated into the frame.
It presents a central lock escutcheon and rear hinges in wrought iron / darkened metal of artisanal manufacture.
It shows natural wear to the wood patina and slight signs of use due to age, which give the piece character.
The locking mechanism works very well.
