Description from the seller
French Army Adrian helmet model 1926
The exterior of the helmet has been painted a long time ago, probably dating from World War II, in three colors: blue, white, and red. The interior retains its original khaki paint.
A marking “FFI” (Forces Françaises de l'Intérieur) was painted on the front section.
Beautiful patina and wear marks consistent with the piece’s age.
No chinstrap and no liner inside.
Helmets repainted in this way are seen on pieces attributed to the Liberation period (1944–1945), but also on helmets that could have been repainted in the post-war years, notably for ceremonies or commemorative uses.
I cannot therefore guarantee the authenticity of the “FFI” marking.
The helmet comes from a lot I had bought from a small military museum after it closed.
Shipping possible by La Poste or Mondial Relay.
