The gold-leaf and color-illustrated bindings echoing the iconic Hetzel library vocabulary of the nineteenth century (balloons, volcanoes, palm trees, chained globe, ocean liner on a pier, elephant). Launched in 2003 by the Hispano-Italian publishing group RBA in partnership with Fabbri (subsidiary of RCS), this collection reissues in fascicles sold by subscription the complete, or nearly complete, Jules Verne corpus. Each volume reproduces in miniature, on an illustrated binding, the ornamental style of the famous multicolored bindings designed for Pierre-Jules Hetzel. The bindings vary in shape and size, from 21 x 13 cm to 23.5 x 16.5 cm.

The set includes the great scientific and geographical adventure novels (Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Seas, Journey to the Center of the Earth, Around the World in Eighty Days, From the Earth to the Moon, Around the Moon), the cycles in several installments (The Children of Captain Grant in three parts, The Mysterious Island in three parts, Mathias Sandorf, Voyages and Adventures of Captain Hatteras and The Survivors of the Jonathan in two parts each), as well as rarer titles in current reissues, such as The Suburban Wonder of Orinoco, The Secret of Wilhelm Storitz, A Drama in Livonia or P’tit-Bonhomme.

The overall condition is good but several volumes show minor flaws: partial color wash-off on several bindings, marks, dust, some foxing, tear on the back cover of Mistress Branican and A Floating City (calico torn), titles sometimes a bit rubbed on the spine, light scuffs, and other minor defects.
