Description from the seller
Lorenz Automatic Perpetua – 25 Rubis – Swiss Automatic Watch – circa 1960–1970
A distinctive vintage Lorenz Automatic Perpetua men’s watch, dating approximately from 1960–1970, featuring a Swiss automatic movement with 25 jewels, date indication and a characteristic period case design.
The watch immediately stands out through its 35 mm chrome-plated case, broad angular profile and unusual textured bezel. The aged silver dial displays a pronounced and authentic vintage patina, giving this example considerable character.
The dial is signed LORENZ – AUTOMATIC PERPETUA – 25 RUBIS, while the lower section carries the inscriptions INCABLOC – ANTIMAGNETIC, reflecting the technical characteristics emphasized by manufacturers during this period.
A framed date aperture at 3 o’clock, applied triangular hour markers and dauphine-style hands complete the unmistakably mid-century appearance.
Case
• Material: Chrome plated
• Diameter: 35 mm, excluding crown
• Crystal: Acrylic
• Case Back: Stainless steel
• Design: Angular case with integrated-style lugs

• Dauphine-style hour and minute hands
• Central seconds hand
• Date aperture at 3 o’clock

• Winding: Automatic / self-winding
• Jewels: 25 Rubis / 25 jewels
• Functions: Hours, minutes, central seconds and date

The Story
Dating approximately from 1960–1970, this Lorenz Automatic Perpetua belongs to an important period in the development of the automatic wristwatch, when manufacturers increasingly combined self-winding mechanisms with practical complications and improved protection for everyday use.
The dial tells much of the story itself: Automatic Perpetua, 25 Rubis, Incabloc and Antimagnetic. These were meaningful technical attributes at the time, communicating a watch designed around reliability, mechanical sophistication and daily wear.
The 25-jewel automatic movement is complemented by Incabloc shock protection, antimagnetic construction and a practical date indication — a combination that positioned the watch as a technically accomplished automatic model for its era.
Its design is equally characteristic. The angular chrome-plated case and especially the textured bezel give the Perpetua a stronger, more architectural appearance than many conventional round watches of the period, while the triangular applied indexes and dauphine-style hands retain the elegance of 1960s watch design.
More than five decades of ageing have also given this particular example an unmistakable identity. The silver dial has developed a strong, naturally evolved patina, making each mark part of the individual history of the watch rather than the uniform appearance of a restored vintage piece.
It is this combination of 25-jewel Swiss automatic mechanics, Incabloc protection, date functionality, distinctive case architecture and authentic ageing that gives the Lorenz Automatic Perpetua its particular period character.
