Fine set of the Complete Works of Alphonse Daudet, published in Paris by Fayard Frères, 78 Boulevard Saint-Michel, gathered in 7 volumes.

Old half-red/brown leather bindings with corners, spined with raised bands, titles and volumes gilded, marbled boards and endpapers.

Particularly interesting feature: the volumes have retained many original illustrated covers from Fayard’s 10-centime issues.

Condition: good overall for its age. Bindings show rubbing and signs of use, particularly at the heads, raised bands, and corners. Interiors generally well preserved. The photographs allow for a precise assessment of the condition.

An old illustrated greeting card, discovered inside one of the volumes, will be kept with the set. It bears handwritten correspondence on the back as well as the inscription “Series No. 272 – Printed in France – M.D. Paris.”
