Ravishing landscape by Eugène GALIEN LALOUE, large scale, signed under his pseudonym KERMAINGUY (his oils are almost always signed with a pseudonym; Dupuy and Galiany are the most well-known, but also Lievin, Kermainguy, Lenoir, Michel and several others rarely used).
There is depicted a mushroom picker, carrying baskets and walking at the forest edge, among rocky blocks, a setting reminiscent of certain Fontainebleau forest landscapes.
Eugène GALIEN LALOUE was a prolific painter; while he is more renowned for his Parisian gouaches, highly sought after and which can fetch several tens of thousands of euros, he also painted a large number of landscapes and seascapes throughout his many travels in France.
