Gustave De Bruyn - Pitcher - Majolica

A rare antique pitcher with the seal of the famous French master Gustave de Bruyn (Antoine Gustave De Bruyn), founder of the earthenware manufactory in the Fives-Lille area of Lille, France. Features of this seal: Brand name: Relief logo in the shape of an entwined anchor with the letters D and B (De Bruyn). Serial number: The model number of the product, 1337, is clearly visible in relief on the base. Style: The piece is made of glazed majolica (barbotine) in the distinctive Art Nouveau style of the late 19th and early 20th centuries and is decorated with a raised floral ornament in green tones. There are small cracks in the glaze.
