Description from the seller
Beautiful antique Frisian fret-cut tray, a traditional Dutch folk art form that was especially popular in the early 20th century (the Jugendstil and Art Deco periods). Netherlands circa 1920-1930
Woodcarving technique: Frisian fret-cut (also known as chip carving). This technique is characterized by hand-cutting small geometric triangles from the wood to create depth and intricate patterns.

Geometric patterns: Around the birds you can see a diamond-shaped frame with four butterflies, fan motifs and stars, surrounded by a richly detailed edge of geometric rosettes and star patterns.
Fittings: The tray is equipped with sturdy, classic brass handles on the sides.
Nowadays usually hung.
Dimensions: 34 cm high and 53 cm wide.
Condition: in good condition, of course signs of use.
