Old statue of Our Lady of Banneux in polychrome plaster - Signed Guelfi / Maucci (43 cm).

Magnificent and authentic antique religious statue representing Our Lady of Banneux (Our Lady of the Poor), inspired by the Marian apparitions of 1933 in Belgium.
This is a very beautiful piece of devotion or folk art, remarkable for the quality of its drapery and the gentleness of the facial features.
Period of manufacture: Mid-20th century (circa 1930-1950).
Sculptor: Signed Guelfi impressed in the lower fold of the back drapery.
Publisher / Manufacturer: Marked “DEPOSE MAUCCI” with model number No. 19 at the base (famous French manufactory renowned for its high-quality religious statuary).
Inscriptions: N.D. DE BANNEUX painted on the front of the base.
Dimensions: Height 43 cm | Base diameter 11 cm.
Material: Traditional molded plaster with original polychrome patina (white robe, veil, light blue belt, gold and silver details on the rosary).
Condition: Statue sound and stable, presenting a very beautiful period patina.
Some signs of age attesting to its authenticity: two chips visible exposing the white plaster (one on the front fold of the veil, another at the fingertips of the joined hands), as well as light wear and micro-fissures in the paint (see detail photos).
No major structural loss, the back and the base are pristine.
