Contemporary half-leather and cloth binding in purple with, on the spine, a gold title and gold fillets, marbled endpapers, losses to the upper and lower parts of the spine. The collection is part of a series of 122 plates issued from Lemercier’s presses for the publishers Goupil and Knoedler from 1859 to 1865 under the title La Suisse et la Savoie for the first part, and La Suisse, la Savoie et le Tyrol for the final part. The magnificent lithographic anthology is inspired by photographs of the renowned photographer Martens and depicts the most beautiful landscapes and towns of Switzerland and Haute-Savoie; of particular interest are the prints concerning Mont Blanc.
