Yves Offret (1946–2004)
Norman painter
Born in 1946, Yves Offret devoted his life to painting, developing a body of work deeply rooted in his native Normandy. His studio, based in Conches-en-Ouche, was the site of meticulous pictorial research focused on landscapes, changing light, and the atmospheres of the region.
In the 1980s, he exhibited notably at Galerie Tuffier in Les Andelys, where his work attracted an audience sensitive to the poetry of his canvases. Faithful to a personal approach, Offret favors an intimate painting, where nature and scenes of life become evocative, imbued with serenity.
Died in 2004, Yves Offret leaves behind a discreet but sincere body of work, bearing witness to an artist's attachment to his homeland and to the simple beauty of everyday life.
