Description from the seller
"We sit, We judge", oil on MDF, 31.7 x 22.9 cm, 2026
Oil painting on 1 cm thick MDF board.
Support prepared on all sides.
Edges of the board painted with the same background shade.
Painting with varnish (removable).
Signed and dated on the back.
The painting belongs to a series titled "The Great Catsby", started in 2020, which themes the imposing behavior of cats.
This series is composed of small-format oil paintings and its main aesthetic inspiration is East Asian art and Art Nouveau, especially through the use of ornate, standardized, and geometric elements.
In these works, chromatic and compositional harmony is given primacy, through elements, objects, or patterns conceived and/or assembled in Photoshop to create unique environments for each painting.
The works in this series can be distinguished by the use of frontal composition and lack of perspective in the background, as well as by the ornate and/or geometric objects and planes surrounding and enhancing the cat figure.
Patrícia Trindade is a Portuguese artist who has participated in exhibitions in Portugal, Spain, France, Denmark, Latvia, Mexico, USA, Montenegro, etc. Her works are in public museum collections and private collections across Europe.
*Unframed painting - the image is for presentation purposes only.
*IMPORTANT: Due to restrictions imposed by Portuguese couriers and shipping limitations beyond my control, orders cannot be shipped to the United States.
