Art Deco pair of bookends dating from 1930–1940, made of marble.
Description from the seller
A splendid and entirely original pair of Art Deco bookends from the 1930s. This set is a beautiful example of the geometric and luxurious style from the heyday of Art Deco and was most likely crafted in a French or Belgian stonemason’s workshop. The design features a clean composition of three-color marble: Base: Deep, solid Belgian Black marble (Noir Belge). Large disk: Elegant pale pink/beige veined Breccia marble. Small inlay: Contrasting reddish-brown veined accent (Rouge Belge). Thanks to the heavy weight of the solid natural stone, they are not only an eye-catcher in the interior but also perfectly functional to keep books neatly upright.
