Candlestick (2) - Brass - Pair of candlesticks

This pair of metal candlesticks features an elegant and strong classical architectural style, directly inspired by Greco - Roman antiquity. Each piece takes the form of a fluted column topped by a rich Corinthian style capital finely sculpted with acanthus leaves and volutes motifs. The columns rest on a square and stepped base, decorated with a gadroon frieze that reinforces the neoclassical aesthetic of the whole. These candlesticks bear no visible hallmark or manufacturer mark on their surface. The dimensions of each item are 21 cm in total height with a square base measuring 9 cm on each side. The individual weight of each candlestick is 400 g, bringing the total weight of this pair to 800 g. The general condition of preservation is good, as the structure of both pieces is perfectly sound and stable. There are simply some surface wear and minor scuffs entirely due to age, which patina the metal surface and bear witness to its authenticity.
