This carré draws inspiration from an exhibition about the armor of European princes in the second half of the 16th century, an exhibition held in 2011 at the Hôtel des Invalides.
According to Arfon's Dictionary of Art Edition Squares, it is considered fairly rare and sought after (see last photo).
Very good overall condition despite the slight patina of the washed silk.
