Nicole Lubbers is a Dutch visual artist from the eastern part of the country. She is known for her innovative and idiosyncratic approach to art and works with various styles, techniques and forms of imagery. In her work, color, movement, expression and emotion play an important role. Themes such as resilience, strength, transformation and overcoming challenges regularly inspire her creations.

Her international career has developed strongly in recent years. Lubbers was crowned Artist of the Year 2024 at the Belgrade Biennale, received the Institutional Award of the Municipality of Montecosaro and took second place at the World Art Awards as Most Innovative Artist 2024. She was also listed among the 100 best female artists in the world and recognized as a Master in Art.

Internationally, her work has been shown and planned for exhibitions in New York, Venice, Florence, Belgrade, Belgium, China and Montecosaro, in addition to exhibitions in Dutch galleries.

A particular highlight is Beyond the Surface, a solo exhibition on Times Square in New York. In addition, Nicole presents the exhibition Harmony in Motion: Two Artists, One Vision together with artist Michael Lam. Two different artistic worlds come together here and form a joint dialogue about movement, color, creativity and transformation.

Delivery and presentation

The artwork is delivered without a frame and without a stretcher frame. You will receive the canvas carefully rolled, so you can decide yourself how you want to present the artwork.

For example, you can have the canvas framed or mounted by a professional framer on a stretcher frame.

Important when stretching: please note that for stretching the canvas at least 5 cm of extra canvas on every side is required. This margin is necessary to be able to fold and secure the fabric around the stretcher frame. Therefore, when determining the final size, allow for a minimum of 5 cm extra margin on the top, bottom, left and right sides.

In addition to her work as a visual artist, Nicole Lubbers is also known as a doll maker.
