Nicole Lubbers - In a way XL

Nicole Lubbers is a Dutch visual artist from the eastern part of the country. She is known for her innovative and idiosyncratic approach to art and works with various styles, techniques and mediums. In her work, color, movement, expression and emotion play a significant role. Themes such as resilience, strength, transformation and overcoming challenges regularly inspire her creations.

In recent years, her international career has shown strong development. Lubbers was named Artist of the Year 2024 at the Belgrade Biennale, received the Institutional Award of the Municipality of Montecosaro, and placed second at the World Art Awards as Most Innovative Artist 2024. She was also listed among the 100 best female artists in the world and recognized as a Master in Art.

Internationally, her work has been seen and scheduled for exhibitions in New York, Venice, Florence, Belgrade, Belgium, China and Montecosaro, in addition to exhibitions in Dutch galleries.

A particular highlight is Beyond the Surface, a solo exhibition on Times Square in New York. Additionally, Nicole, together with artist Michael Lam, presents the exhibition Harmony in Motion: Two Artists, One Vision. Two different artistic worlds come together here and form a joint dialogue around movement, color, creativity and transformation.

Nicole Lubbers’ work is more than just a visual image. Her compositions invite reflection on perseverance, growth and overcoming challenges. The bold colors and dynamic imagery make her work a striking statement in both modern and classical interiors.

Delivery and presentation

The artwork is delivered unframed and without a stretcher frame. You will receive the canvas carefully rolled, so you can decide how to present the artwork yourself.

You can have the canvas framed or have it stretched by a professional framer on a stretcher frame.

Important when stretching: please note that for stretching the canvas you need at least 5 cm of extra canvas on each side. This margin is necessary to fold and secure the fabric around the stretcher frame. When determining the final size, allow for at least 5 cm extra margin on the top, bottom, left and right sides.

In addition to her work as a visual artist, Nicole Lubbers is also known as a doll maker.
