Two spectacular bookends featuring a figure of Dante Alighieri. Made in the United States around 1910. That was a heyday for this kind of object due to the use of a galvanic process. A model made of clay or plaster was electroplated with a bronze layer and hand-painted. Very rare in Europe.

Twee spectaculaire boekensteunen met beeld van  Dante Aleghieri. Gemaakt in de Verenigde Staten  ca 1910. Dat was een bloeiperiode voor dit soort objecten wegens de toepassing van een galvanisch proces. Een model van klei of gips werd via electrolyse bedekt met een laagje brons en met de hand beschilderd. Heel zeldzaam in  Europa
