Nicole Lubbers - Hide XL

Nicole Lubbers is a Dutch visual artist from the eastern part of the country. She is known for her innovative and unconventional approach to art and works with various styles, techniques and visual forms. In her work color, movement, expression and emotion play an important role. Themes such as resilience, strength, transformation and overcoming challenges regularly inspire her creations.

Her international career has developed strongly in recent years. Lubbers was named Artist of the Year 2024 at the Belgrade Biennale, received the Institutional Award of the Municipality of Montecosaro, and placed second at the World Art Awards as Most Innovative Artist 2024. She was also listed among the world’s 100 best female artists and recognized as a Master in Art.

Internationally her work has been shown and planned for exhibitions in, among others, New York, Venice, Florence, Belgrade, Belgium, China and Montecosaro, in addition to exhibitions in Dutch galleries.

A notable highlight is Beyond the Surface, a solo exhibition on Times Square in New York. In addition, Nicole collaborates with artist Michael Lam on the exhibition Harmony in Motion: Two Artists, One Vision. Two different artistic worlds come together to form a joint dialogue around movement, color, creativity and transformation.

Delivery and presentation

The artwork is delivered unframed and without a stretcher frame. You will receive the canvas carefully rolled so you can decide how to present the artwork yourself.

You can have the canvas framed or mounted on a professional stretcher frame by a framer.

Important when stretching: please note that for stretching the canvas at least 5 cm extra canvas is required on each side. This margin is necessary to fold and secure the canvas properly around the stretcher frame. Therefore, when determining the final size, allow for a minimum 5 cm extra margin on the top, bottom, left and right sides.

Besides her work as a visual artist, Nicole Lubbers is also known as a doll maker.
