A beautiful painting of a farm with a child and a water-carrying woman, painted by the Rotterdam painter Jan De Jong. (1864–1901).
The creator is the Rotterdam artist Johannes 'Jan' de Jong (1864–1901). He was known for his realistic and impressionistic landscapes, expansive scenes, and historical cityscapes around the turn of the century.
Characteristics of his farm works
Subject: Rural life, often a similar farm surrounded by trees, meadows and livestock (such as cows by the water's edge).
Style: Ranging from fine detailing to a loose, impressionistic brushwork that beautifully captures the Dutch light.
