Pimpfe by Heinz Ehring and Herbert Reinecker, published in 1939 by Verlag Dr. Friedrich Osmer, Berlin SW 61.
Original German illustrated instruction and photo book about the organization, training and daily activities within the Deutsche Jungvolk. The book covers among other things comradeship, physical exercises, camps, trips and assistance with the harvest. The edition runs to 160 pages and contains numerous black-and-white photographs and drawings.
The cover was designed by Kurt Tebbe and the drawings are by Ferdi Spindel. In the colophon several photographers and agencies are named, including the Reichsbildstelle der HJ and Presse-Illustrationen Hoffmann.
Original gray linen hardcover with red title print. The binding shows signs of age and use, slight yellowing, a few stains and localized fraying along the edges and spine. The paper has aged and discolored. In one of the presented sections there is wear and opening at the binding visible. On the flyleaf there is a small pencil note “I/42”. See the photos for a complete picture of the condition.
Dimensions: approximately 24 × 18 cm.
