LASVEGUIX

A French contemporary artist, Lasveguix develops a singular universe at the crossroads of street art, collage and contemporary painting. His work questions the memory of walls, the passage of time and the poetry of the ephemeral, transforming urban scars into emotionally charged pieces.

Introduced to graffiti by his cousin SUOZ, he shapes his visual language through the contact with the walls of Paris and London. His work sits within an artistic lineage where the great names of urban and contemporary art converse. It bears the heritage of Jacques Villeglé and Raymond Hains in the art of torn posters, the sculptural power of Vhils, the raw energy of Jean-Michel Basquiat, the silhouettes of Jérôme Mesnager, the poetry of Miss Tic, the urban memory of Ernest Pignon-Ernest, the stencils of Jef Aérosol, the pixelated universe of Invader, and the iconographic force of Shepard Fairey. Without ever imitating them, Lasveguix asserts a personal, instantly recognizable handwriting.

Torn posters, aerosol, acrylic, Posca and reliefs compose real “wall skins,” where tears, overlays and the traces of time become witnesses to a collective memory. Each work reveals a dialogue between material, history and emotion, inviting the viewer to rediscover the beauty of what the city seemed to have forgotten.

Lasveguix regularly exhibits in France and internationally. His works join private collections in many countries and reflect a growing interest from collectors. His career leads him to participate in art fairs, prestigious exhibitions as well as charity galas uniting collectors, patrons and institutions. His work has notably been presented at events held at Roland-Garros, the District 13 Art Fair at the Hôtel Drouot, in Monaco and at several emblematic venues of the contemporary art scene.

Through each of his creations, Lasveguix gives a second life to the remnants of the city. He does not depict the walls: he reveals their soul, letting urban heritage, memory and creation dialogue in a profoundly contemporary and timeless work.
