Vase - Earthenware - Art Deco Pitcher

This Art Deco glazed earthenware pitcher comes from the famous Belgian manufacture Faïencerie de Thulin, and perfectly reflects its modernist production of the first half of the twentieth century. The object features a jug or vase shape with a wide flared neck and a bulbous lower body, textured throughout its surface with fine horizontal ribbed rings in relief. A large flat and geometric handle elegantly connects the upper neck to the rounded belly. The decoration is characterized by a drip glaze with matte and satin melting enamels, revealing beautiful splashes and runs of emerald green and sulphur yellow that contrast with a deep graphite black background. Under the molded circular base, the piece features the incised mark Made in Belgium accompanied by the shape number 533 specific to the pottery factory's model registers. The dimensions of this highly decorative item are 23 cm in total height with a maximum width of approximately 18 cm across the handle and a neck diameter of 12 cm. Its individual weight is 1300 g, which also represents the total weight of this lot. The general condition of preservation is very good, as the structure shows no hairlines or major cracks on the body. One simply notes a few slight surface signs of wear entirely due to age, as well as a small shallow chip located at the bottom of the base rim, which remains completely invisible when the object is placed flat.
