Angiolo Volpe, born in Livorno in 1943, developed from an early age a great passion for painting that has accompanied him throughout his life. Thanks to his origins, Volpe had the opportunity to come into contact with the Macchiaioli painters, which influenced his style and technique.
The subjects Volpe chose to treat reflect the love he nourishes for his land, Tuscany, and in particular for the city of Livorno, the sea and the Maremma. His art, permeated by a deep sensitivity towards nature and the elements that make up the landscape, represents the daily life of his land.
Volpe's works have enjoyed great success both in Italy and abroad, being exhibited also in the United States and in Japan. The criticism has shown itself particularly sensitive to his ability to represent the soul of Tuscany and to express through his paintings the beauty and authenticity of his land.
