Bret Easton Ellis - The Informers - RARE, SIGNED UNCORRECTED PROOF! - 1994

Up for auction is this INCREDIBLY RARE 'Signed', uncorrected proof, of The Informers, by Bret Easton Ellis.

This was the follow-up book to his breakout 'American Psycho', and features a collection of short stories with intertwining characters - some from American Psycho itself.

Signed trade editions of this first edition are selling for £250 plus, but this is an incredibly scarce signed uncorrected proof - the edition 'before' the trade edition, that will have been used for the final proof-read stage, and may well contain passages and corrections not in the final book.

As such, this represents a fascinating document, where collectors can compare this version with the eventual published edition.

Uncorrected proofs will typically be printed in very small numbers - a few hundred max - as they were mainly distributed to proof readers as well as to provide early editions to read for book reviewers/journalists.

As such, this item is EXTREMELY RARE. In fact, I can't find another for sale.

Even rarer to have Easton Ellis actually sign it too.

Presents in as-new condition, with just some sun exposure to the spine and very top of the face of the wrapper.

A real one-off, and a real rarity for collectors of his work.
