Usain St. Leo Bolt (Sherwood Content, Trelawny, August 21, 1986) is a former sprinter from Jamaica. He is the current world record holder and Olympic champion in the 100 m, 200 m, and the 4 x 100 metre relay. Moreover, Bolt, nicknamed The Lightning Bolt and Thunderbolt, holds the world junior record in the 200 m with 19.93 seconds and was, as a junior (under 20), the only one to manage to run this distance under 20 seconds. Bolt participated in the Olympics four times. He is also the first athlete to win both the 100 m and the 200 m at three consecutive Olympic Games (2008-2016). He also won the 4 x 100 m relay twice. On the list of most successful medalists at the Olympic Summer Games, he takes the shared tenth position after the 2016 edition. On 12 August 2017 he took part in his last race in the 4 x 100 m relay at the World Championships in London, where he as the last runner dropped out with a hamstring injury to his left leg, at the moment he wanted to accelerate from third position.
