Description from the seller

An interesting and refined female portrait by Antonio Bresciani, an important exponent of Neapolitan painting of the twentieth century.
The work depicts a young woman caught in a spontaneous and intimate pose, with her gaze directed sideways and a hand in the foreground. Particularly successful is the expression on the face, rendered with soft and sensitive painting, capable of conveying naturalness and psychological intensity.
The female figure occupies a significant place in Bresciani's body of work: the artist indeed loved to represent mainly girls and young women in moments and attitudes of daily life, privileging a portraiture distant from officialdom and characterized by a strong human and affectionate component.
Wikipedia
Dimensions of the work: 27 × 23 cm
Overall dimensions with frame: 50 × 53 cm
The work is presented within an important decorative frame that enhances its composition and character.
A painting of pleasant painterly quality, particularly suitable for collectors and enthusiasts of twentieth-century Neapolitan painting and Italian portraiture.
