Subject and Theme:
"BUBBLE GUM ICONS" is an irreverent and vibrant diptych that contrasts two absolute cinema legends, Marilyn Monroe and Audrey Hepburn, caught in a daily, almost adolescent gesture: blowing a chewing gum bubble.
Their faces, in black and white, emerge from walls exploded with graffiti, tags, drips and bright colors, like old posters covered by the city.

At the center of each portrait, the bubble lights up with neon: hot pink for Marilyn, blue for Audrey. Two lights that transform Hollywood divas into street icons, bold and contemporary, and that dialogue with each other as two faces of the same story.

Technique and Creation:
Both works combine fine art print on rigid support with hand-applied LED neon that traces the perfect outline of the bubble.
The contrast between the black-and-white elegance of the portraits and the saturation of the graffiti creates a strong visual tension, while the pink and blue lights reflect on the faces and on the wall, enveloping the space in a pop, nocturnal atmosphere.
Hung side by side, the two works form a balanced and impactful composition that grabs the eye at first glance and continues to reveal details with every observation.

Inspiration and Curiosity:
The colors are not random. The pink matches Marilyn’s famous dress in "Gentlemen Prefer Blondes," one of cinema’s most iconic looks. The blue pays homage to "Breakfast at Tiffany’s," the film that solidified Audrey as a style icon for generations.
Seduction and grace, exuberance and elegance: two opposite ways of being a legend that here descend from their pedestal. The gum bubble replaces the cover-girl smile, irony takes the place of perfection.
A diptych intended for those who love pop culture and want to bring into their home a luminous dialogue between two timeless myths.
