Chinese open work Archaic creamy white nephrite jade pendant –China- 20th Century
On offer is a nice open work Archaic style nephrite jade pendant with a central cut dragon. At the front side the pendant has a light-yellow green greasy appearance similar to mutton fat jade, with the central carved dragon being white. The back side is creamy white. The excellent carving, fully in Chinese taste, shows the craftsmanship of the artist. Although this as a beautifully crafted Chinese taste Archaic jade pendant, it should be said that this jade pendant has been treated to look like desirable mutton fat jade.
Has been identified as nephrite jade by measuring thermal conductivity and hardness and translucency. Also checked with UV light; which indicates a natural color. Provenance: This jade comes from inland China. A good quality jade, suitable as an addition to your high-end collection or to present as a gift! This is a rare open work piece!
