This monumental composition required several days of creation and substantial research, composition, integration and retouching work to harmonize each contemporary intervention with the aesthetics of the original painting.
With "Rock Never Dies" after the Polish artist Jozef Simmler painted in 1863, Teejo presents a monumental composition in which the grand academic painting meets the history of rock.
Designed in a spectacular XXL format, the work borrows the codes of a grand mythological scene and twists them through a multitude of anachronisms. AC/DC, Pink Floyd, The Rolling Stones, electric guitar, vinyl, the British flag and other references progressively disrupt the classical universe.
The artwork’s special feature lies in its double reading.
From a distance, it preserves the elegance and richness of a museum-scale painting through digital collage. As you get closer, contemporary details appear one after another and reveal a true celebration of rock culture.
The monumental oval format, outlined by a fine gold contour, deliberately emphasizes its theatrical and museum-like character.
