Description
A splendid and complete historical album by the Dutch painter and illustrator Otto Eerelman (1839–1926), specializing among other subjects in horses and dogs.
This handsome large-format album appeared in 1894 in Leiden with A.W. Sijthoff, accompanied by text from Johan Gram. The book contains several characteristic images and plates by Eerelman, including fine depictions of horses and coaches.
The title page reads: “Eerelman's Album – with accompanying text by Johan Gram – Leiden, A.W. Sijthoff.”
The offered copy is complete. The original binding and decorative elements are present, and the book has a fine historical appearance.
Condition: given its age, still attractive, but with clear signs of aging and wear. The paper shows discoloration/browning and light traces of water damage. These traces are mainly visible on the paper and should be considered part of the condition description. No missing pages.
