I acquired this older fine ceremonial Ikat Sarong, handmade from handwoven cotton and dyed with natural colors (including indigo), in the 1990s in Tamkesi / West Timor from the collection of the local Raja.
This extremely long ceremonial Sarong originates from the Insana District and is made of two equal parts and has a diameter of 53 cm.
The two main bands display the Kaimnatu motif in white and indigo colors, while the central part shows fine colored Ikat stripes.
