Natural gold nugget from Guelb Ndour Tiris Zemmour, Mauritania, weighing 0.327 g.
Description from the seller
This nugget comes from the desert region of Tiris Zemmour in northern Mauritania, about a hundred kilometers from an area named Guelb Ndour.
Gold mining in this country was reserved for a large industrial company. But since 2016 individual prospecting has been allowed using metal detectors.
I am the manager of a travel agency (mauritanie-aventure) and a guide for Saharan treks in Mauritania, and I am passionate about gold prospecting.
It was during prospecting in 2020 in the Mauritanian desert, during reconnaissance trips aimed at offering tourist gold-detection stays, that I discovered this nugget.
I present it as I found it; I have only cleaned it with soapy water.
Although gold mining has become one of Mauritania’s main resources, nuggets are fairly rare because almost all the gold is melted into ingots that are then sent to Dubai.
All photos were taken in natural daylight.
I photographed this nugget as sincerely and accurately as possible using daylight.
Please note that differences in screen settings and ambient lighting can lead to variations in perceived color, saturation, and tones.
The nugget you receive is, of course, the one shown in the photos.
I offer fast, secure, and discreet shipping in a rigid C5 envelope (162mm x 229mm) via La Poste (French registered mail).
