Piero Fornasetti - Dish (6) - Porcelain

Lotto composed of 6 original plates from the series “Cupole d’Italia,” designed by Piero Fornasetti for the collection reserved for friends of engineer Andrea Brenta of Milan.

Made in porcelain/ceramic decorated with refined perspective representations of Italian domes, in black on white background with a gilded edge.

Each plate bears on the back the name of the depicted dome, descriptive text, numbering and the wording:

“CUPOLE D’ITALIA – COLLEZIONE RISERVATA AGLI AMICI DELL’INGEGNERE ANDREA BRENTA DI MILANO – DISEGNO DI PIERO FORNASETTI”

The series is documented in the bibliography dedicated to Fornasetti and similar pieces have appeared in major Italian auctions. The production was originally intended as a gift for clients and friends of entrepreneur Andrea Brenta.

Conditions: vintage, as per photographs. Normal signs of age and wear to the gilded edge. One of the six plates shows an evident crack, documented in detail in the photograph. No attempt to hide or minimize the defect.
