Description from the seller
A summer portrait with spontaneous, luminous charm: a young woman, seen from the back with her face turned toward the viewer, flaunts a long, wavy mane with coppery highlights, adorned by a bold pink flower pinned among the hair. The direct, slightly coquettish gaze, together with the delicate smile, gives the figure a fresh and natural immediacy.
The background, rendered in warm and golden tones that blend with one another, wraps the figure in an amber light that enhances the complexion and the golden highlights of the hair. The floral dress with thin straps and the delicate dangling earrings add a touch of informal elegance, perfectly in tune with the summer, vacation-like atmosphere of the scene.
The painting technique, soft and well blended in the tonal transitions, alternates between a detailed rendering of the face and jewelry and a looser, more material brushwork in the thick mane, in a balance between descriptive precision and painterly gesture.
The work is signed in the lower left corner "G. Vitale"
