Important and imposing work devoted to the horse and the equestrian world, in a large richly illustrated edition.
The work presents a very large number of photographs in color and in black and white, some on double-page spreads, as well as various documentary plates. It covers the horse in many aspects: history, breeds, traditions, breeding, riding, equestrian sports, relationships between humans and the horse, and artistic representations.
Large format of about 35 cm, brown binding with a golden medallion depicting a horse’s head.
Condition: an old book showing signs of use. The outer binding has scuffs, marks, stains and wear, clearly visible in the photographs. The interior is overall well preserved and retains a very rich iconographic wealth.
An especially decorative and interesting copy for a collector of equestrian books, an amateur of riding or of fine works devoted to the horse.
The numerous photographs are an integral part of the description and allow one to assess precisely the condition of the copy.
