A tun-tun-pig or "pig-staff" used by the Iban Dayak in North Borneo as a trigger for an advanced trap. On a magical level the mythical figure would lure or attract prey. In practice a cloth soaked with the scent of food was placed inside the figure to lure the animal.
If you look at the photos, you can see the patina and the condition of the antique ebony wood, which adds to the originality and age. Gorgeous collectible / museum piece. It comes with a custom-made iron stand on which the figure reaches a height of 71 cm.
