A.C. van Noort, also known as Arie-Kees, was born on March 8, 1914 in Bennebroek. After finishing school in 1928 he joined his father's painting company. In the evenings he took drawing and painting lessons from the eccentric Haarlem painter Henri Frédéric Boot, who under his mentorship helped develop great artists such as Kees Verwey and Anton Heijboer. By day Van Noort worked as a house painter and in the evenings painted in his room.
The painting comes from a private collection.
Condition: the painting is in somewhat imperfect vintage condition, needs some restoration on the canvas.
