Exceptional Minerva precision stopwatch from 1966, reference 26742/5, from the traditional house Andreas Huber, Munich 22.

Andreas Huber – Munich watchmaking tradition

The House Andreas Huber is one of the traditional names in German watchmaking history. The company was founded in 1856 in Munich by Andreas Huber and developed into a renowned address for high-quality watches and precision timepieces.

The next generation continued the watchmaking tradition at the highest level: the founder's son, also named Andreas Huber, was one of the early pupils of the German Watchmaking School Glashütte and is documented there as a pupil as early as 1879.

The company also maintained relationships with the Bavarian royal household and received the court title in 1912. Historical watches from the house bear designations such as “Kgl. Hofuhrmacher München.” (Glashütte Uhren)

Dial & Function

The Minerva features an extraordinary precision dial with a decimal scale from 0 to 100 and a separate minute counter at 12 o'clock.

Particularly interesting is the elaborate split-seconds/rattrapante function with two central stop hands. This allows intermediate and reference times to be captured while the main timing continues.

The stopwatch is in an exceptionally beautiful and completely original preserved condition. Dial, hands, split-hand, case and controls are all originally preserved.

The mechanical movement is very clean. The stop function, split-hand function, and zeroing work cleanly and flawlessly. The hands reliably return to their starting position.

Due to decades of storage there are only minimal age-related storage traces or fine micro-scratches. Overall the stopwatch appears exceptionally well maintained for its age.
