Magnificent porcelain bottle cooler (or wine bucket) from Maison Samson (Paris, 19th–20th century), made in the style of Kangxi-era Famille Verte Chinese porcelains (17th–18th centuries).
Decoration:
Rich hand-painted polychrome floral decoration, featuring blooming peonies, rock formations pierced with translucent green enamel and fluttering butterflies.
Side handles molded in relief forming mascarons of fierce beasts (fantastic lions / Foo dogs) accented with orange enamel and iron-red.
