Fine Antique Swiss Pocket Watch - High Grade Straight-Line Lever Movement - Silver Case - c. 1900
Auction Description:
An impressive turn-of-the-century Swiss pocket watch featuring a high-grade mechanical movement with a straight-line lever escapement.
Dial: White enamel dial featuring fine Roman numerals, outer minute track with Arabic 5-minute indicators, sub-seconds register at 6 o'clock, and classic blued steel hands.
Movement: High-quality Swiss bridge-layout movement with blued steel screws, compensated balance wheel, and hand-engraved regulator scale (A/R - F/S).
Case: Pocket watch case featuring a engine-turned/guilloché back, double-hinged cuvette (dust cover), and pin-set time adjustments via the case button near 1 o'clock. The inside case lid bears the maker's mark (GME) and serial number 17337.
Condition: Pre-owned antique condition. The enamel dial shows light, minor wear consistent with age. The case retains clear engine turning with light surface wear and natural patina. The movement appears complete and clean; watch runs but full service history is unknown.
