Condition: Good vintage condition with normal signs of wear

3) Sturdy and beautiful vintage wooden box with Indian colonial character.

Details:
Material: Solid Sheesham/rosewood with warm dark color
Fittings: Brass corner pieces, edges and clasp with 3 inlaid brass stars on lid
Inside: 1 spacious compartment, unfinished wood
Dimensions: 16 x 12 x 4 cm
Condition: Good vintage condition with nice patina on wood and brass

4) Name: Khatam-kari pen-case (qalamdan) from Isfahan, Iran
Technique: Micro-mosaic. This is not painting or print. They glue thin sticks of wood (ebony, rosewood, walnut), plastic and brass wire together into a long rod, slice them into pieces 1-2 mm thick, and lay those slices like tiles next to each other.

Pattern: all 6-pointed stars that interlock - the classic Isfahan pattern. The border around with those beads is also typical.
Age: 1970s-1990s, tourist export. A true antique piece from before 1940 would be much finer (almost invisible to the naked eye) and much heavier due to solid wood underneath.
Inside: Usually empty or with 1 compartment - meant for a fountain pen or marijuana. Some have a sliding lid.
