Viktor Glukhov - Circo Sovietico URSS - 1970s

The poster depicts Viktor Glukhov (Виктор Глухов), a Soviet circus artist, and is a poster for the Soviet Circus (Цирк) produced in the USSR in the 1960s–70s.

The graphic style, with fluid shapes and psychedelic lettering, is typical of late-Soviet Moscow graphic avant-garde, influenced by Russian Constructivism as well as Western psychedelic art of the Sixties.

Many of these posters were created by illustrators active for the publishing house “Soyuzgoscirk” (Union of State Circuses) and printed to promote individual artists or shows.
