Good news for collectors. I am offering this rare vase from HAAS Keramik. The vase is signed by Jakob Haas and handmade in the period 1960/1965.
The hand-painted mark of 2 hares with a K underneath (for Keramik) was used exclusively by the master ceramists. On other HAAS ceramics, form numbers and sometimes the logo are embedded.
Haas Keramik was founded in 1953 by the brothers and master ceramists Friedrich and Jakob Haas and was based in Vaduz, Liechtenstein. In 1959 the factory moved a few kilometers further to a larger building in Schaan. There was high demand for Haas ceramics, and the small company with 12 employees exported to all neighboring countries and to the United States. After the brothers’ deaths, the company passed in 1996 to Gernot, Jakob’s son. The factory closed in 2005.
This vase is 30 cm tall and has a belly diameter of 22 cm. Sgraffito in dark blue glaze with white band decoration painted in Delft blue.
