AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Antonio Carrilero Ortiz, of Albacete, 1936–2020. He began his primary studies at the public school in La Roda where he began to nurture his vocation for painting and drawing. At the early age of twelve he had to leave his education to work alongside his father in a small chair factory. At nineteen he visited the Prado Museum and in his spare time began to make copies of reproductions of famous paintings, alternating them with his work in the factory.

In the 1960s he met the person who would become his teacher in the artistic field, Benjamín Palencia, Spanish painter and founder of the Escuela de Vallecas together with the sculptor Alberto Sánchez Pérez. In 1966, Carrilero already won the first painting prize of his hometown.

From the 1970s, supported by Benjamín, he decided to devote himself professionally to painting. He began his journey painting alongside him in Villafranca de la Sierra and in Polop de la Marina, creating a great friendship between them, so much so that we speak of Carrilero as a disciple of the painter Benjamín Palencia.

The work is in very good condition, a work of high quality; the measurements without a frame are 55x39. It is sold with the original wooden frame from the period, belonged to a family of Madrid origin, it is shipped perfectly packaged by an international company.
