Meissen - Platter - Porcelain - Indian flower bowl.

Exceptionally elegant plate (a small charger) with a rarely seen, profiled, octagonal shape and subtly wavy edges. It is made of the highest quality, snow-white, gleaming porcelain. The main ornament of the piece is the famous, hand-painted decoration known as the “Indi an Flower” (German: Indische Blume). This historic, asymmetrical floral motif, inspired by Oriental art, depicts a delicate branch rendered in cool shades of green, blue, and subdued pink, with luxurious gold accents in the centers of the flowers. Completing this charming composition is a tiny, flying insect. The rim of the piece is carefully outlined with a thin gold line.
The signature on the bottom, in the form of the famous cobalt swords, indisputably proves that this is an original product of the legendary Royal Meissen Porcelain Manufactory (Meissen) – the oldest and most prestigious factory in Europe. On the reverse side, there are also mould marks in the body (form numbers, incl. 53772) and handwritten numbers of the decorator. The piece is perfect as a dessert plate / small charger for exquisite sweets or as a stunning display item in a cabinet, a jewel in any collection of Meissen porcelain.
