Octave Uzanne (1851-1931) was a French man of letters, bibliophile, and publisher passionately devoted to the fin de siècle and the decadent movement. Founder of the Society of Contemporary Bibliophiles, he distinguished himself with his erudite and precious writings on fashion, femininity, and love. This work is part of his period of close collaboration with publisher Édouard Rouveyre to publish light and refined pieces for the curiosities of belles lettres.

Félix Perret (1854-1928) was a French illustrator and engraver active at the end of the 19th century. Specializing in illustrations for bibliophile editions, he is particularly noted for his allegorical compositions and graceful figures.

The Calendar of Venus is a sequence of aphorisms, gallant advice, and poetic reflections orchestrated around the months of the year and devoted to the cult of love and seduction.

Binding signed L. Magnin in green half-morocco with corners, spine with raised bands ornamented with gilt fleuron ornaments, in very good condition.
