Evening Grace is a 2026 oil painting by Emmanuelle Capatos (United Kingdom), a Neo-Impressionist still life.
Description from the seller
Evening Grace is a quietly composed still life that brings together the warmth of freshly baked bread, dark plums and scattered pomegranate seeds. The restrained arrangement and deep tonal palette create an atmosphere of intimacy, evoking the calm of an evening table after the day has come to an end.
The work is distinguished by its rich handling of light and texture. The crust of the bread, the polished surfaces of the plums and the small, jewel-like pomegranate seeds are carefully observed, yet remain integrated within a painterly and atmospheric composition. Against the dark ground, subtle variations of brown, burgundy and warm ochre give the painting a particularly tactile quality.
Emmanuelle Capatos approaches the traditional still life with a contemporary sensitivity, finding beauty in modest, everyday objects. Evening Grace combines classical still life traditions with a quiet modern mood, making it an appealing work for collectors of contemporary still life, figurative painting and atmospheric oil painting.

Emmanuelle Capatos
Born in 2000, Emmanuelle Capatos is a British painter working in the tradition of classical oil painting.
While studying Theatre and French for her Bachelor of Arts, Capatos experienced a decisive calling towards painting in 2020, subsequently redirecting her path towards the study and practice of traditional oil painting. She completed her atelier training at The Glasgow Academy of Fine Art in 2024, where she later worked as an assistant teacher, studio manager and Anatomy Instructor.
Capatos’ practice explores the relationship between material realism and deeper symbolic meaning. Drawing upon the visual traditions of ancient Egypt, Greece and Mesopotamia, she is interested in the enduring language of symbolism and narrative, and in the ways painting can engage with human nature and the spiritual dimensions of everyday life.
Through the discipline of traditional oil painting, Capatos seeks to reveal the beauty and significance present in the world around us.
