Carafe - Crystal - Large crystal carafe

This slender decanter is crafted from cased crystal in a rich ruby or burgundy red color. The design features significant geometric cut-work alternating wide clear flat ribs with lanceolate points that cut through the colored overlay to reveal the brilliance of the underlying crystal. The long, elegant neck is also decorated with vertical cut ribs, topped with a flared cased rim. The circular base features a finely cut radiating star underneath. The decanter is complete with its original solid crystal stopper in a faceted ogival shape. This high-quality piece is attributed to the famous French Saint-Louis crystal manufacturer, although it does not bear any visible signature or maker's mark. The item has a total height of 40 cm including its stopper and a maximum diameter of approximately 11 cm, with a total weight of 1400 g. A number 6 is engraved with a point underneath the stopper, corresponding to the traditional workshop registration number for custom fitting. The entire set is in very good overall condition, with the crystal retaining its full transparency and color intensity. For accuracy, minor superficial flea bites or micro-chips are present on the sharp cut edges, only noticeable upon very close inspection, which do not detract from the overall aesthetic of the piece.
