Elegant painting by Alessandro Marenghi (Piacenza, 1906–1982), Italian artist active mainly in his hometown and best known for his landscape production.
The work depicts a suggestive Italian urban view. The scene is characterized by a distinctive luminous atmosphere and a palette of blues, greens, ochres, and browns.
The brushwork is loose and tactile, with interesting light and shadow contrasts that give depth to the scene. The composition is typical of the artist's landscape production, in which Marenghi progressively developed more open forms and a strongly chromatic painting.
The work is signed in the upper right.

Marenghi studied with important masters and artistic institutions between Piacenza, Parma, Milan and Bologna. From 1950 he exhibited annually in Piacenza, where he developed significant artistic activity.
